Join us as a Liquidity Financing/ Prime Trading AVP at Barclays where you’ll play a crucial role and be primarily responsible for facilitating hedge fund client’s short positions. You will manage relationship with lenders such as custodian banks, agent lenders, retail brokers, broker/ dealers and other market participants.
You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in the role,
such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen,
strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job specific technical skills.
To be successful in this role you should have great communication skills
and previous stakeholder management with both internal and external stakeholders, quantitative approach and ability to present findings in a digestible way by the audience as well as great MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Additional relevant skills in programming, developing and coding, knowledge of equity markets and financial markets, infrastructure and previous experience working with technology and operation partners as well as SIE and series 7, 63, 57 are preferred and highly valued.
Salary / Rate Minimum: 125,000
Salary / Rate Maximum: 175,000
The minimum and maximum salary/ rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

To execute trades and manage risk within a defined portfolio of financial instruments and staying informed about market trends and developments to make informed trading decisions.

Purpose of the role

Accountabilities
- Execution of buy and sell orders or pricing of liquidity in various financial instruments while adhering to the bank's trading strategies and risk parameters.
- Monitoring and analysis of global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks.
- Management and monitoring of the risk associated with the trading portfolio and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management guidelines.
- Collaboration with research analysts and other teams to gather insights and information for trading decisions.
- Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
- Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
- Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
