Role Overview:

Our financial services client is seeking a proactive problem solver to join our Enterprise Data Management team as a Data Operations Engineer. This role will support the existing data operations framework that enables the Enterprise Data Management Team to provide reliable access to data for the enterprise. You will be responsible for proactively monitoring existing ETL jobs and cloud pipelines, ensuring SLA s are met, and addressing any production issues as they occur. This includes monitoring process performance, effectively communicating across departments with Analytics, IT, and business teams. You will perform root cause analysis and provide effective error resolutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the 24/7 batch cycle using smart on-call tools
  • Monitor ETL Job and cloud pipeline schedules ensuring SLA s are met
  • Troubleshoot issues reported by users and perform root cause analysis for production issues with minimal guidance
  • Evaluate job and pipeline performances, reviewing and identifying areas for improvement
  • Effectively communicate across teams, bridging technical and business terminology
  • Coordinate with data vendors, tracking and following up on data pipeline interruptions
  • Maintain Data Operations documentation
  • Support data engineering platform tools using technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, SSMS, SSIS, REST APIs, Azure Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Fabric to move data from various heterogeneous data sources ranging from flat files, Excel, Oracle, SQL Server, XML, XSL files, and JSON files.
  • Continuously learn about the business and the data that supports it.
  • Adheres to Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to Compliance (UDAAP, BSA/AML, etc.), Information Technology, employee handbook, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • We are looking for a candidate with 3+ years of experience in data centric roles, who has attained a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
  • Familiar with T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, and SSIS with capability to implement REST APIs. Experienced with cloud data platforms like Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric, ensuring scalable data solutions.
  • Working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring

(SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.

  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured and semi-structured datasets.
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of cloud data and platform security, with a preference for Azure.
