Summary:

At Harcros Chemicals Inc., an employee-owned company with a rich legacy in specialty chemical manufacturing and distribution, we're continuously expanding. With 2 manufacturing plants and 27 distribution facilities across 20 states, we're seeking a dedicated Project Engineer professional to join our team to assist with opportunities. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role will provide project engineering support services.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) regulations, including participation in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA).
  • Conduct project engineering design work for various initiatives within the plant.
  • Perform specific process engineering tasks as assigned.
  • Manage project activities, including oversight of contractors and project timelines.
  • Participate in monthly safety training sessions to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Engage in incident investigations, including conducting root cause analyses.
  • Contribute to job hazard analyses to ensure operational safety.
  • Manage existing contracts related to fire extinguisher inspections, first aid, and uniform services.
  • Participate in project review meetings for other Harcros sites as assigned.
  • Coordinate and oversee annual steam outage work within the plant.
  • Other duties may be assigned


Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering preferred; mechanical engineering considered with relevant experience.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing setting.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.


The Required Skills We Are Looking For:

  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office software and AutoCAD for project documentation and communication.
  • Problem-solving skills to manage diverse and non-standard situations.
  • Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business documents, technical procedures, and regulations.

Physical Capabilities & Requirements:

  • Occasional standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.


Work Environment:

  • Noise level is moderate to loud.
  • Will frequently work in outdoor weather conditions.
