Job Title: Azure DevOps Engineer

Location: 100% remote

Responsibilities:

  • Supports a learning organization model through coaching, training, and mentorship
  • Adapt as necessary for unintended consequences of this change initiative and one that understands the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team
  • Work in a DevOps team environment on both tactical and strategic assignments
  • Handle manual work while figuring out how to automate it
  • Take a project from inception to production and lead a team of variant applications to successful automated deployments

Job Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s Degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experience working within a DevOps Engineering role
  • Intermediate knowledge of cloud infrastructure services, specifically with Azure
  • 2+ years of experience with Docker or other containerization technologies
  • 2+ years of experience with CI/CD tools and platforms such as Azure DevOps, Argo, and Flux.
  • Experience supporting 24x7, high availability application environments that include web, application and database servers and load balancing systems.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft SQL server and relational databases
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced, large scale Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience will be considered

Preferences:

  • Experience with at least 1 scripting language such as Groovy, Perl, Python, or Powershell
  • 2+ years of experience working on large scale, multiple team projects
  • 1+ year of experience with programmatic interaction with a relational database, preferably a recent version of SQL Server
  • Experience in at least 1 high level programming language such as C, C#, C++, or Java
  • Experience with modern source control systems (ie. Git)
  • Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) experience
  • Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) experience
  • Strong understanding of database technologies (Mysql, MSSQL, Oracle) with database change automation experience
  • Infrastructure as code experience with some programming background either as a release engineer or developer
  • Self-starter and willing to take on new responsibilities that have not been clearly defined
  • Experience with CI using tools such as Azure DevOps, YAML, Task Agent, or Pools
  • Experience with hosting .NET applications, Windows Forms, Web Services, RESTful APIs, Single Page Application, Micro Services.
  • Experience working with Container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming concepts
  • Understanding of existing Optum Serve technology and business operations
