PDF Developer (W2 basis only)

Role Overview:

The PDF Developer will be responsible for developing dynamic PDF generation systems, simplifying complex document structures, and generating responsive PDFs that support DocuSign's responsive signing experience. You will work closely with backend teams to integrate the PDF engine with real-time data using GraphQL APIs, participate in vendor evaluations, and optimize the performance and scalability of the PDF generation engine.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a robust PDF generation engine to dynamically create PDFs from over 2,500 document fragments, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
• Simplify complex document and template structures to streamline processing and enhance future scalability.
• Generate responsive PDFs that seamlessly integrate with DocuSign's responsive signing experience, ensuring compatibility across all devices.
• Collaborate with backend development teams to integrate the PDF generation system with GraphQL APIs for real-time data binding.
• Optimize performance for large-scale PDF generation, ensuring the system can handle high document volumes efficiently.
• Participate in vendor evaluations and Proof of Concept (POC) processes to select the most suitable PDF generation solution.
• Work closely with QA engineers to ensure the system s functionality and reliability through comprehensive testing and automation.
• Manage and maintain template libraries and document fragments for easy customization and scalability.
• Implement security measures to ensure data privacy and compliance with regulatory requirements during PDF generation.

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience with PDF Generation: 3+ years of experience developing PDF generation systems, including complex, rule-driven document templates.
• Document and Template Simplification: Proven ability to simplify document and template structures, improving efficiency and scalability.
• Responsive PDF Generation: Experience generating PDFs that adapt to different screen sizes, supporting DocuSign's responsive signing technology.
• API Integration: Strong experience integrating PDF generation systems with backend APIs, particularly GraphQL for real-time data binding.
• Performance Optimization: Expertise in optimizing PDF generation workflows for large-scale document creation with a focus on speed and scalability.
• Template Management: Experience managing large template libraries, creating reusable document fragments, and maintaining consistency across templates.
• Vendor Evaluations and POCs: Experience in participating in vendor evaluations and conducting Proof of Concepts (POCs) for PDF generation solutions.
• Security and Compliance: Knowledge of security protocols and compliance measures related to PDF document generation.
• Testing and Automation: Experience working with QA engineers on functionality testing, automation, and load testing of PDF generation systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with DocuSign's responsive signing technology and ensuring document compatibility across multiple devices.
• Proficiency in TypeScript or similar languages to support backend API integration.
• Understanding of cloud-based PDF generation and storage systems for scalability and high availability.
