The Printing Production Manager is responsible for leading and managing a printing / converting department with approximately 25 employees to achieve safety, quality, service and productivity targets and expectations. The facility generates up to $50M annually and produces up to 20,000 tons of folding cartons across 3 printing presses and various converting equipment. The Printing Process Owner is responsible for implementing manufacturing policies and programs that maintain and improve the company’s competitive position and profitability for all Printing operations.

Key Position Responsibilities:

  • Improve productivity and decrease waste through the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and projects
  • Increase labor efficiency and utilization, including staffing and overtime
  • Optimize throughput through Process Improvement, Waste reduction and Lean methodologies.

Key Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • 5 years' experience in printing in a folding carton facility.
  • Six Sigma experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and direct others.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience
  • Familiarization with SQF / HACCP / SQF compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with Food defense compliance standards.
  • Experience in implementation of technical testing in production environments.
  • Deep knowledge of printing and converting technologies required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Job Functions:

  • Execute Voice of Customer initiatives at the Printing Management level
  • Leadership and direction in regard to all printing processes.
  • Lead and align Sheeting and Printing departments.
  • Drive successful onboarding of new business
  • Works closely with planning and scheduling to organize work.
  • Responsible for inventory tracking and ordering of raw materials as well as cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitors and consistently works towards process improvement and high-quality results.
  • Responsible for the supervision of 25 non- union hourly department employees
  • Involved in the recruiting selection process, performance reviews, and all measures of progressive discipline.
  • LEADS troubleshooting.
  • May be required to meet with internal and external customers.
  • Manages and maintains a safe working environment.
  • Maintains solid employee relations and promotes positive culture.
  • Ensures plant’s compliance to 3rd party Functional Control / Pre-Requisite program requirements including: SQF, ISO 9001, and other leadership-mandated programs.
