The Communications Manager role manages day-to-day communications, public relations and social media marketing efforts on behalf of RFK Racing for team partners and drivers for designated race team/accounts.

Proactively works hand-in-hand with the account management team, developing and implementing best-in-class marketing communications platforms to generate and provide maximum value and visibility for RFK partners.

This individual will also be expected to contribute to RFK’s team culture by being a positive influence among colleagues, consistently identifying solutions and demanding that the highest-caliber work be delivered for the benefit of our team and partners.

Assumes responsibility for other duties as assigned in support of the overall communications effort and/or team management support.

  • Designated Primary Media Contact:
  • Driver/Team Schedule
  • Responsible for all driver and team scheduling (media requests, NASCAR events, partner events), as well as ensuring that driver/team adhere to set schedule both during event weekends and off-site obligations.
  • Creates and distributes weekly team race advance to be send to media distribution lists.
  • Will accompany and assist driver at scheduled media, industry and partner events.
  • Assist in securing guests and storylines on weekly SiriusXM programming.
  • At-Track Primary Contact
  • Responsible for all victory lane protocol at track, as well as postrace media obligations.
  • Creates and distributes postrace recaps to be sent to media distribution lists.
  • Will assist the communications team in any occurrence where any level of the RFK crisis plan moves into to effect.
  • Continuously keeps management abreast of any relevant information gathered at the racetrack.

Pitch Development/Execution

  • Develops, coordinates and executes weekly media pitches, working to maximize exposure for partner and team initiatives.
  • Develops creative media angles or experiences relating to team, driver and partners, working to ensure the maximum level of publicity for all parties.

Activation Management

  • Assist in coordination and execution of social media platforms designed to increase social engagement, social followers, brand awareness and visibility for team and partners initiatives.
  • Works daily with account managers to create, plan and execute social and digital platforms and other activation programs that focus on partner and team objectives.
  • Responsible for team, driver and partner focused social media communication from the racetrack, including creating and sharing social/digital content across team and organizational channels.

Reporting

  • Responsible for collectively archiving and reporting all articles, stories, videos etc., pertaining to designated team.
  • Works collaboratively with marketing to collect, quantify and deliver core elements of Quarterly and Year-End Reports

What you will be doing:

Serves as primary day-to-day contact for team and driver with media, NASCAR stakeholders and race team, while working to develop, enhance and support team-partner platforms and initiatives, ensuring maximum exposure with appropriate responsiveness on all requests.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Must possess the ability to manage multiple relationships, and logistics of multiple and simultaneous activities at track and during off-season, as it relates to social media and communication needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Personable attitude with ability to manage multiple relationships with team members, partner representatives, league staff and other industry personnel.
  • Strong time management, customer service and organizational skills.
  • Must work well under pressure with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Self-motivated, driven, success-oriented individual with collaborative communication style.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • High energy with ability to work long/flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
