The Crohn s & Colitis Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-fueled organization whose mission is to cure Crohn s disease and ulcerative colitis and improve the quality of life for the children and adults affected by these diseases. Our work is dramatically accelerating the research process through our varied research initiatives; we also provide extensive educational and support resources for patients and their families, medical professionals, and the public. In addition, we lead federal and state-based advocacy campaigns to support medical research funding and improve patient access to care. Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Impact Communications, the Manager, National Marketing & Communications will assist in the writing, development and implementation of multi-channel communications that demonstrate the Foundation s impact and drive engagement among both consumer and healthcare professional audiences Proven track record in the healthcare sector and translating complex scientific information into meaningful messaging for a lay/consumer audience.

As part of our national Marketing Communications team, you ll be in a position to make a difference in the lives of those with Crohn s disease and ulcerative colitis by helping to drive greater awareness of our Foundation and the work that we do to support the IBD community.

This is a hybrid work schedule, with 2 days/week in the New York City office.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Develop content for all online/offline communications channels (including print, web, social, digital, and video), targeted to a variety of audiences/segments including research progress reports, journalistic pieces and blogs.
  • Specific projects might include (but are not limited to) interviewing and writing patient and professional stories, editing press releases, authoring and publishing blogs, assisting with the creation of impact reports and specialty publications, and creating content for the Foundation website.
  • Investigate and develop stories/narratives for digital/offline channels that resonate with patient and professional audiences to make our constituents feel seen and heard.
  • Manage the Foundation s IBD Visible blog. Implement and maintain a content strategy to including engaging articles that highlight our mission, programs, and impact.
  • Own and maintain the editorial calendar to proactively identify content opportunities per strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor effectiveness and impact of campaigns and provide recommendations based on KPI s for future initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of analytical data and translating these metrics into meaningful content for audience segmentation.
  • Bachelor s degree in communications, journalism, PR, marketing, or healthcare policy preferred.
  • Experienced in collaborating with internal/external partners, consultants, agencies, and freelancers.
  • 3+ years related experience in healthcare either in house or agency or non-profit.
  • Excellent writer and editor with a flair for creating impactful, persuasive stories that support organization s mission, goals, and accomplishments.
  • Excellent project management skills. Experienced working with Asana.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong people/interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, PPT, Excel, Salesforce and Asana. Canva is a plus.
