As the Sr. Operations Manager within the Security Product Marketing Organization, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence for our organization and cross-functional partners. You will be responsible for driving our annual business and quarterly planning, reviews, reporting on metrics, and defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the business. This role is critical to helping us establish operational rigor in how we plan across all Microsoft Security v-teams and how we measure and manage our business.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in business operations, strategy or planning, marketing or product operations, and/or program management for a tech company.
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in business
      • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working in mid-to-large enterprise which includes a matrixed or highly cross-functional organization.
  • 2+ years of experience defining business goals/metrics and OKRs
  • 2+ years of experience delivering business and functional scorecard and monthly/quarterly reports that become an integral tool for accountability and leadership team (LT) decision-making.


Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience n business operations, strategy or planning, marketing or product operations, and/or program management for a tech company.
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business
      • OR equivalent experience.
  • Adept at navigating organizational structures and group norms, has mastered the art of influence to drive decision-making without having authority.
  • Clear communication and ability to provide status updates and progress is critical to success.
  • Prior experience leading large cross-functional projects/v-teams (or as a people manager), influencing, coaching, and guiding collaboration and participation.

Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be a process-oriented, systems thinker who will bring operational excellence to enable the seamless execution of marketing strategies across v-teams. This individual will bring a sense of order and urgency, with a bias for thoughtful action, and have the finesse required to align stakeholders and bring others along.

Drive and oversee annual planning processes for Microsoft Security aligned to cross-functional timelines and Rhythm of Business (RoBs) such as engineering/product planning, sales planning, Global Demand Center (GDC) planning, and financial planning. Deliver a cadence and schedule for plan creation and manage workback schedules.

Lead and implement the annual Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) processes, driving standards for quarterly and annual goal setting across all teams within Security Marketing. Deliver aggregate set of quarterly/annual OKRs and conduct monthly/quarterly business reviews where OKRs are actively tracked and reviewed by Security leadership.

Measure results of marketing execution towards OKRs and committed plans, tying in business performance, and driving a cadence of quarterly reviews for the Security CSA . Deliver updated business and functional scorecard and monthly/quarterly reports that become an integral tool for accountability and leadership team (LT) decision making.

Own and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap for Microsoft Security, working with PMM leaders to drive rigor in how we monitor execution against product delivery commitments across every major product lines. Deliver and prepare up-to-date annual master product roadmap which will be reviewed in monthly/quarterly business reviews and leveraged in weekly engineering reviews.

Monitor and manage program spend and return on investment/objectives (ROI/ROO) aligned to marketing priorities and initiatives in close partnership with Security Marketing leadership team, CoS, and finance. Deliver quarterly/annual view of program spend, tied to quarterly/annual initiatives with ROI/ROO.

Drive continuous process improvement in how Security Marketing operates, including how we organize information, where we maintain our plans of record, and how we align with the rhythm of business (RoB) across multiple cross-functions. Deliver operational playbooks for marketing initiatives/programs to create structure and drive operational excellence.
