Job Summary
The Technical Writer/Editor is responsible for producing high-quality documentation tailored to its intended audience.
This role involves analyzing existing content for reuse opportunities and ensuring that product labeling for immuno and chemistry assays meets regulatory standards.
Candidates should preferably reside within a 2 3-hour drive of our Tarrytown, NY, or Newark, DE, sites to attend on-site meetings when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing standards and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-source opportunities.
- Create and manage product labeling for immuno and chemistry assays.
- Collaborate with a team of skilled technical writers and cross-functional teams to enhance product usability.
- Work with internal teams to gain an in-depth understanding of products and their intended applications.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate clear messages from complex data/information.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to interface effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and composition rules.
- Familiarity with clinical data and reports; a scientific background is a plus.
- Proficient in standard business applications, including electronic document control, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- High ethical standards and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks for oneself and others.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work virtually in conducting internal and external business.
Preferred Qualifications
- A science degree or experience in academic settings; experience as a Medical Technologist is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of direct technical writing experience in a medical device manufacturing company.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with XML-based content management systems (or equivalent), specifically Adobe FrameMaker and InDesign at an intermediate level.
- Experience in the In Vitro Diagnostic industry is highly preferred.
Certifications
- Technical Writing Certification (preferred).
