We are an independent, trendsetting lifestyle hotel in Brooklyn, NY, on the hunt for a dynamic Chief Engineer to lead our engineering and maintenance operations. What You ll Do:

  • Lead a motivated engineering team, instilling a culture of teamwork, integrity, and top-tier service.
  • Oversee all building systems from HVAC to electrical and plumbing ensuring peak performance and operational efficiency.
  • Drive innovation and excellence, developing and executing preventive maintenance programs that extend the lifespan of our facilities.
  • Collaborate with development and construction teams on exciting projects, overseeing everything from FF&E installations to seamless operational transitions.
  • Ensure guest safety and satisfaction, by adhering to and exceeding safety protocols and compliance standards.
  • Create and manage capital plans (1-year, 3-year, and 5-year) that ensure our property remains the best in class.
  • Work with external contractors and vendors to manage repairs and keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in building maintenance leadership, with a strong background in luxury or boutique hotel environments.
  • Proven expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • A hands-on, problem-solving mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills that build and sustain high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and other relevant communication tools.
  • Passion for innovation, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence.
  • Bonus points for additional languages though not required, it s always helpful in hospitality!
