As a Disaster Recovery Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the resilience and continuous operation of our IT services. You'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans to protect our organization from unforeseen events. Your expertise will help us navigate and recover from disruptions efficiently, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
We are seeking a Disaster Recovery Specialist to ensure the continuity and resilience of our technology stack across multiple environments in the Care Delivery space. This role involves supporting disaster recovery (DR) planning, plan refreshes, and exercise requirements while reinforcing accountability with Service Level Owners (SLOs) for infrastructure or application recovery and validation test plans.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures for multiple data centers.
Coordinate and conduct disaster recovery exercises, including tabletop scenarios and post-mortem analysis.
Monitor and report on the status and readiness of disaster recovery plans and systems.
Identify and prioritize gaps and risks in disaster recovery capabilities, proposing solutions and mitigations.
Collaborate with application support teams and operations to align disaster recovery requirements and best practices.
Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on disaster recovery processes and procedures.
Stay updated on trends and developments in disaster recovery and business continuity.
Lead and drive meetings, tailoring messages to the audience.
Communicate effectively across company and department boundaries, including with senior leadership.
Adapt quickly to changing conditions, strategies, and organizational goals.
Oversee and execute day-to-day process activities.
Perform periodic audits for process compliance and report results.
Provide on-call and after-hours support as needed.

Cross-Training Responsibilities:
Engage in cross-training with Major Incident and Problem Management teams to gain a thorough understanding of incident management processes and problem-resolution techniques.
o Provide support as needed based on business requirements or capacity constraints.
Assist in the development and execution of major incident response plans.
Participate in post-incident reviews and problem management activities to identify and address root causes of incidents.
Mandatory Skills Description:
Associate's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in disaster recovery management, planning, and testing.
Strong knowledge of disaster recovery methodologies, standards, and frameworks.
Hands-on experience with disaster recovery tools and technologies (e.g., backup and replication, cloud services, virtualization platforms).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
3+ years of experience with IT Service Management and ITIL best practices.
A Disaster Recovery or ITIL Foundations Certification or an equivalent. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Microsoft Teams).
Nice-to-Have Skills Description:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in Major Incident, Disaster Recovery programs, and/or Operations.
5+ years of experience in a collaborative, team-based environment.
3+ years of experience documenting ITSM practices or DR policies, processes, and procedures.
