The role of the External Audit Data/Reporting Analyst is to produce, analyze and manipulate data and information systems related to customer audit engagements. Additional responsibilities include producing population files and other reporting, conducting data analysis, managing systems and system access, and providing technical support related to systems, data and reporting.

This position is full time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 6:00AM - 6:00PM EST (Eastern Standard Time) with core business hours of 10:00AM - 1:00PM EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all privacy and data security policies and requirements
  • Prepare data sets and reporting to UHC, audit firm and customer specifications
  • Cleanse, analyze and evaluate large complex data sets
  • Write queries to filter and summarize large complex data sets
  • Develop and maintain custom and adhoc reports
  • Distribute data internally and externally in compliance with all data security policies and guidelines
  • Support and collaborate with external audit stakeholders regarding data and reporting
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of audit data, records and reporting
  • Serve as subject matter expert and central point of contact for audit data, systems, and reports
  • Validate sample selections for processing
  • Manage CQAT SAM uploads
  • Manage remote system access and credentials for external audit firms
  • Create and maintain detailed audit records and files

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • 2+ years of experience writing queries and working with large complex data sets in Microsoft Access, Ultra Edit, or SQL.
  • 2+ years of experience writing queries and creating reports in Tableau, Power BI, or SQL
  • Highly proficient in the use of computers and commonly used applications such as Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word (creating, editing, saving documents), Microsoft Excel (creating, editing, analyzing data sets, etc.), Microsoft PowerPoint (creating, editing, saving presentations), Microsoft Access(creating, editing, saving documents).

  • Knowledge of UHG Data Use and Privacy Policies and security requirements
  • Proficient using Microsoft Excel pivot tables, visual basic and data analysis tools
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, consistently meeting deadlines for tasks and deliverables
  • Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide effective technical support to internal and external customers

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
