Role Summary: Financial Operations Analyst

As a Financial Operations Analyst, you will report directly to the Corporate Controller and play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the company’s financial reporting and metrics. You will also work closely with the CFO and various functional teams, covering all aspects of financial operations, including procure-to-pay, inventory management, month-end account analysis, journal entries and reporting. You will be part of a small Finance team that significantly impacts the company’s growth and success. This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Procure-to-Pay Process

  • Process purchase orders (POs); track against budget, receipts, and invoices
  • Maintain accurate vendor profiles, including agreements/SOWs, W-9s; prepare 1099 filings at year-end
  • Process vendor bills and validate account and department coding in Ramp
  • Act as the in-house expert on Ramp and provide training to new employees on expense reimbursement process

Inventory Management

  • Collaborate with the Hardware team and key suppliers to track inventory movement and ensure accuracy in inventory status
  • Assist the Controller in tracking inventory costs by analyzing various landed costs and conducting periodic inventory counts
  • Serve as the in-house expert of inventory management in Netsuite

Monthly Financial Close and Annual Audits

  • Reconcile cash and credit card statements against monthly statements
  • Reconcile health benefits against payroll deductions and report discrepancies
  • Update prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accrual schedules to prepare journal entries, including fixed asset depreciation
  • Perform trend/ BvA variance analysis of assigned accounts to ensure financial results are accurate and complete; follow up as necessary
  • Prepare audit documentations and schedules as requested

Ad-Hoc Projects

  • Assist the Controller and CFO with various projects, including business analysis (competition, trends, budget vs actual, financial ratios), annual filings, renewals, or registrations in various states and localities, insurance renewals, new financial tool evaluations and implementations, and process documentation and improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business administration, Economics, or a related field
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience with a basic understanding of US GAAP; CPA certification not required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-up skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; approachable and comfortable interacting with managers and employees across the organization
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and Excel
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new tools and systems
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, growth-oriented startup environment
  • Prior experience with NetSuite and Ramp is highly desirable but not required

Physical requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
  • Occasional lifting of equipment or supplies weighing up to 15 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through electronic means
  • Manual dexterity to operate computers and other office equipment
  • Ability to travel to different locations as needed for meetings or project requirement

  • Salary Range: $75,000-$95,000: Our compensation philosophy is to bring people into new roles in the range of the mid-point of that role. Factors considered for pay include the level of skill, experience, training, external market factors, and internal equity
