What You'll Do:

Support Systems Operations: Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
System Updates and Maintenance: Perform routine updates, patches, and upgrades to keep systems running at peak performance.
Monitor and Troubleshoot: Track system performance, identifying and resolving issues to maintain optimal functionality.
Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with senior administrators to optimize network performance and ensure high reliability.
End-User Technical Support: Provide prompt assistance to end-users by diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems.
User Account Setup: Help configure user accounts, email systems, and access permissions for new and existing team members.
Coordinate with IT Helpdesk: Partner with the helpdesk team to efficiently resolve user issues and enhance customer satisfaction.
Backup and Recovery Management: Assist in implementing backup strategies and perform routine data backups to ensure data integrity and availability.
Document and Report: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Prepare reports on system performance and incident resolutions.
Enhance Security Measures: Help implement security policies, monitor system logs for potential breaches, and participate in security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with teams across the organization to identify and implement technology solutions that align with business objectives.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Local Candidates Only: You must be local to Herndon, VA to be considered for this role.
Willingness to Work a Hybrid Schedule: Candidates must be willing to transition to a hybrid work schedule once the clearance process is completed.
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance and pass a polygraph
A Bachelor's degree OR 5+ years of relevant experience.
Understanding of and Experience with RHEL Linux and its variants (Oracle Linux, CentOS 6 -8)
Solid foundational understanding of IPv4 networking
Familiarity with VMWare environments
Desired

Strong problem solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills
Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ CE Certification Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
