The Data Center Estimator will analyze project specifications, prepare detailed cost estimates, and collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate budgeting and resource allocation for data center projects. This role requires a strong understanding of data center operations, construction practices, and cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans and specifications to determine scope and requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment related to data center construction and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to clarify project details and requirements.
  • Analyze historical data and industry benchmarks to support cost estimation.
  • Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather relevant data for estimating.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of cost information for future reference.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and bid documents.
  • Monitor project budgets and adjust estimates as necessary throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data center construction and operation.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an estimator in construction or data center projects.
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and network systems.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques.
  • Certification in estimating (e.g., Certified Estimating Professional) is a plus.
  • Work Environment:
  • The Data Center Estimator will typically work in an office setting but may be required to visit construction sites. This role may involve collaboration with various stakeholders, including contractors, clients, and internal teams.
