Summary/Objective:

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Entry-Level Helpdesk Technician to join our IT support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues, and ensuring smooth IT operations within the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Respond to user inquiries and provide technical support via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and peripherals.
  • Assist with setting up new user accounts and managing access permissions.
  • Document and track support requests using a ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support or specialized teams as needed.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to end-users on IT-related topics.
  • Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with IT projects and initiatives as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility: No

Required:

  • High school diploma with 1-2 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality support.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.


Preferred:

  • An associate or bachelor's degree in IT or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other common software applications.
  • Knowledge of basic network troubleshooting and configuration.
  • Prior experience in a helpdesk or customer support role is a plus.

The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:

Work Environment:

  • May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work to address urgent issues.

Physical Demands:

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines.
