The relationships you form with the executive you support and the journalists of the ABC News Washington Bureau are absolutely critical because those enable you to become a true partner. In addition to understanding your executive’s business -- and business needs -- inside and out, you will also develop deep knowledge of the workings of ABC News and its Washington Bureau.

Responsibilities
Every day in this role is different. On any given day, you might:
- Protect Executive’s time through strategic and proactive calendar management and vetting a variety of meeting requests
- Work closely with the Executive on activities, projects, meetings, event planning and office logistics
- Manage Travel & Entertainment expenses for your team
- Book Travel for your leader and/or team and build travel itineraries
- Proactively resolve problems and pitch in to help
- Manage project tracking and follow-up
- Compose correspondence on behalf of leader
- Ensure the executive is prepared for meetings and events
- Research and report out on specific topics as required
- Manage highly confidential correspondence and information with utmost discretion
Here’s what you will need to be successful in the role:
- A minimum two years of experience in an administrative role or equivalent
- Strong proficiency with standard office tools such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Professional and highly discreet while maintaining absolute confidentiality
- Effective communication skills, including diplomatic and professional handling of telephone and email communications
- Ability to be pro-active, resourceful, flexible, and responsible
- Ability to take initiative and anticipate needs
- Extremely well organized and attentive to detail
It would be a plus if you also had these skills:
- Prior experience at The Walt Disney Company
- Experience working in a national news organization
- Experience working in Washington, DC
- Preferred - Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
