Principal RF Engineer

Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The successful candidate will be familiar with topics including radar systems (ranging from analog to radars with active antenna arrays), signal processing, object-oriented designs, graphical user interface (GUI) displays and controls, and plot/track development. Experience with activities such as requirements definition; design of software controls and graphical interfaces; integration of multiple third-party, internal, and Government inputs and outputs; process and user documentation; and software testing and troubleshooting is expected.
• The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in the electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering functions to understand software requirements and software integration. This individual will work across multiple programs, and will serve as a mentor for junior engineers. They will work in both a team environment and independently to perform their assigned tasks. The successful candidate will also be expected to interface with external vendors and Government customers, and periodic travel may be required.

Requirements

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate should have a degree in Computer Science or a related field - Bachelor's and 20 years of experience, Master's and 18 years of experience, or a Ph.D. and 15 years of experience as a minimum. The successful candidate will also meet the following minimum criteria:

• Experience defining software requirements and designing/developing complex software architectures and subsystems
• General understanding of radars and signal processing techniques
• Interpersonal skills that augment performance within a team environment
• Experience mentoring less experienced personnel
• Currently hold or be immediately eligible to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance with potential growth to Top Secret
