Job Description

Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time IT Technical Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide technical assistance and support to staff and customers regarding computer systems, hardware, and software issues. This role requires troubleshooting technical problems, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for all users. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to enhance their technical skills while balancing a part-time schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Respond to user requests for assistance in person, over the phone, or through email and help desk systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve computer and network problems, including installations, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, and software.
- Set up new workstations, including hardware and software installation, and provide basic user training when necessary.
- Maintain IT inventory, including tracking and managing computer equipment, accessories, and software licenses.
- Assist with the maintenance and upgrade of systems and networks, including troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Perform system backups, software updates, and routine maintenance to prevent IT issues.
- Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support or external vendors as needed.
- Document procedures and technical resolutions to contribute to a knowledge base.
- Follow security protocols and maintain a secure IT environment.
- Other duties as assigned!
Requirement:
- Currently pursuing or completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Proven experience in providing technical support or IT help desk experience.
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and common hardware and software troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (LAN, WAN, routers, switches).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot a variety of technical issues.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple tasks.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity best practices is a plus.
Working Conditions-
- Flexible part-time schedule, 20-25 hours per week.
- Some weekend or after-hours work may be required for system updates or emergency troubleshooting.
- Onsite support required!
Pay:
- $18- $20 per hour
