Neos is seeking a Senior Technical Documentation Specialist for a long-term contract with our client in Austin, TX.

This role requires occasional travel onsite for meetings, so only candidates local to the Austin area will be considered.

You will work closely with staff to develop comprehensive technical product documentation for end-users of the Texas Air Emissions Repository (TexAER) database.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, outline, format, and produce detailed program and end-user documentation, including user guides, troubleshooting manuals, tutorials, and reference materials.
  • Create documentation that includes appropriate visualizations to support the content.
  • Collaborate with staff to gather feedback on draft documents and incorporate user-requested changes as directed by the supervisor.
  • Produce video tutorials that meet Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Department of Information Resources (DIR), and World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment, engaging with individuals of all technical levels.
  • Provide technical support and assist in testing as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience with web page user interface design and developing end-user documents for complex relational database applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to interact with people at all technical levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of knowledge regarding the limitations and capabilities of computer systems and their integration with end-user business processes.
  • Experience preparing technical documents for technical and non-technical audiences, ranging in complexity.
  • Skills in analyzing and interpreting data.
