The Department of Physics, within the College of Arts and Sciences, at The Ohio State University seeks a Research Senior Technician to join our team.
The Research Senior Technician assists in the maintenance, research and operation of a high energy physics (HEP) research lab; prepares samples for testing; develops, maintains and modifies software; researches and procures equipment and performs quality assurance testing on prepared samples; designs and assembles custom electronic circuits; designs custom data acquisition systems involving oscilloscopes, voltmeters, P.C. control software, and other test instruments; performs setup, operates and maintains sputtering machines and evaporators; constructs custom laboratory equipment involving microelectronics assembly, soldering and machining.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in physics or related area or equivalent experience
Qualifications:
Required: Two years of physical science research experience. Ability to translate, adapt, and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of physical science research
Desired: Experience in a high-energy physics laboratory is desired.
Additional Information:
Target Hiring Range - $17.31-$22.77
