DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the Survey Technician Supervisor , you will oversee all activities of the survey field crew to accurately determine the location of various features and/or the layout of design features. These surveys are crucial for preliminary engineering, right-of-way location and acquisition, highway construction, highway safety projects, and determining final quantities. You will be responsible for establishing both horizontal and vertical control for projects, collecting topographic data, and efficiently creating digital terrain models while out in the field. Additionally, you will be tasked with staking right-of-way lines, cuts and fills, proposed structures, and highway alignments that consist of horizontal curves, spirals, and vertical curves.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of experience as a Survey Technician; or
  • Four years of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments; or
  • Two years of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments, and an associate's degree in surveying, drafting, design, civil or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.


Conditions of Employment:
  • This position will require possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
