Biologist I
Job Description
Conduct biological experiments under the direction of management. Perform structured work assignments. Extract information from existing databases or literature and prepare information for biological analysis. Conduct research and testing on basic and applied principles of microbial, plant, human, and animal life, including their origin, anatomy, and function of biological systems in both simple and complex settings. Collect and study biological data to focus on structure, function, behavior, and tailored applications. Complete technical evaluations and/or assessments of biologics, biological mechanisms, or biological properties.
Skills & Qualifications
Genetics Molecular/Cellular Biology: Study and modify the genetic systems of organisms and singular and/or multi-cellular organisms, understanding and engineering their genetic functions, including gene expression into functioning RNAs and proteins.
Virology: Study viruses, including but not limited to submicroscopic parasitic particles of genetic material contained in a protein coat and virus-like agents.
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Columbus, Ohio.
Work Environment
Hours: 9/80 schedule. Team works 9-hour days and then gets off every other Friday. Core hours are 8am-5pm. Will be supporting multiple projects at a time.

Job Description

Skills & Qualifications
- Must have a B.S. in Biology, Microbiology, or closely related.
- 2+ years of industry experience working with DNA/RNA, and PCR
- Analyze test data and results to determine the acceptability or application of test items/systems or the validity of test data.
- Interpret results and write components of technical reports.
- Troubleshoot the testing process when expected results are not obtained and recommend paths forward to resolve analysis problems.
