Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our founding team. This is a unique opportunity to take a leadership role in an early-stage startup and directly influence the technological trajectory of the company. As our CTO, you will be responsible for developing and executing our technical strategy, building and leading the engineering team, and driving the development of our AI platform.

This role offers equity compensation initially, reflecting our pre-revenue status. With LOIs from customers eager to adopt our platform once developed, and an on-going fundraise (where a strong CTO provides a powerful signal), there is significant potential for growth and financial upside as the company progresses. We are looking for a machine learning expert who is passionate about AI and excited to build cutting-edge technology from the ground up.

Subject Matter Expertise

• Total understanding of the raw data to annotated data to ML model to compound AI system flow
• Grasp and appreciation of the history of machine learning and AI development along with big milestones (e.g., imagenet, Alexnet, feature maps etc).
• Strong proficiency in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Deep understanding of cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises solutions.
• Expertise in data security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Define and execute the company’s technical vision and strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Product Development: Oversee the architecture, design, development, and deployment of our AI/ML platform, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to set priorities and drive key strategic decisions.
• Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in AI and machine learning to keep our platform at the forefront.
• Customer Engagement: Work closely with customers and design partners to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Quality Assurance: Establish best practices for software development, testing, and deployment to ensure high-quality product delivery.
• Resource Management: Manage technical resources effectively, including budgeting and scheduling, to meet project timelines.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all technological processes comply with relevant regulations and standards, particularly around data security and privacy.
• Thought Leadership: Represent Ace AI at industry events, conferences, and in media engagements as the technical spokesperson.

Experience:

• Proven experience in a technical lead role, especially in an ML company.
• Extensive experience in developing and deploying machine learning models and AI systems.
• Experience in building platforms, preferably AI/ML platforms.

Leadership Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage engineering teams.
• Strategic thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if supplemented by substantial experience.
