OUR MARKET POSITION

Great Minds’ Eureka Math is the most widely used curriculum in the history of American education. It enjoys an unrivaled 40+ net promoter score. Eureka and its sister products, Wit & Wisdom English and PhD Science, embrace much higher expectations for all students and all teachers. In a market dominated by scripted, procedural materials that drive expectations down, Great Minds produces curricula that celebrate knowledge, respect the craft of teaching, and acknowledge the true capabilities of students.

Job Purpose

The Manager, Project Management supports the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) by managing the health of the entire program portfolio. This role will work closely with their team of Project Management professionals to ensure standard operating procedures are followed, improve upon these procedures as needed, serve as the point person for escalation of risks and issues, and ensure dependencies between projects in the program portfolio are identified and addressed. The Manager communicates with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize projects within a program and determine the resources, budget, scope, and requirements for each project.

This position is an exceptional opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who possesses a commitment to Great Minds’ organizational vision and who has a proven track record of strong project management and people management skills. While the work is remote and the ideal candidate will work well independently, this is a highly collaborative position, necessitating a strong sense of teamwork and cooperation.

Responsibilities

  • Steer projects within a program portfolio to success, ensuring each initiative is delivered with precision, efficiency, and aligned to business objectives
  • Manage and develop dynamic program management teams along a trajectory from the Associate Project Management role to the Senior Project Manager role
  • Monitor and support the schedule health of all projects and analyze and identify project and program risks
  • Evaluate project metrics and measure established key performance indicators
  • Maintain a single, accessible source of truth for accurate and timely data relevant to product scope and release dates; produce and present accurate and timely data to support risk mitigation, on-going decision making, and strategic planning
  • Regularly evaluate efficiencies within all processes, including content creation and production workflows, and initiate proposals aimed at improving efficiency, communication, morale, and/or the overall success of Great Minds and its mission
  • Use command of the budgets to propose trade-offs, applying understanding of the relationship between each item in a project budget and the relationship it plays in the successful completion of the goals of the project as well as the role it may play in the success of other projects, considering the interdependencies between projects
  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic and tactical issues that may impair the organization's ability to meet its strategic, financial, and technical goals
  • Create and lead effective communication cadences across development teams, stakeholders, and executive teams to produce accurate and timely status reporting throughout each project life cycle
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with cross-functional professionals throughout the organization

Requirements

  • 5+ years working on cross-functional large, complex projects simultaneously
  • 1+ years leading project management teams
  • Advanced experience with project management principles and, ideally, Smartsheet or similar project management software
  • Deep knowledge of Project Management Institute’s best practices
  • Experience working with curriculum content or educational publishing
  • Demonstrated success in a leadership role building, motivating, and inspiring teams to achieve goals
  • Ability to manage activities for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytic and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PPT), Microsoft SharePoint, or other similar distributed storage and collaboration systems
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound organizational habits, necessary for successful goal setting, collaborative problem solving, deadline execution, and record keeping
