We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Analyst with a strong background in requirements development, data analytics, dashboard development, and business process improvement. The ideal candidate will be adept at using advanced tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Qlik to create, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights. This role requires a keen analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. This position has an on-site requirement at our McLean, VA office, only candidates local to the DMV (DC Metro, Southern MD, Northern VA) will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate Business Processes: Assess current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement, recommending actionable solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Gather Insights & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, develop user stories, and ensure clear project documentation and prioritization.
  • Project Management & Collaboration: Use Jira, Metronome, or similar tools to manage project progress, track user stories, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and QA teams.
  • Developer & QA Collaboration: Work closely with developers to elaborate on acceptance criteria and clarify project expectations, requirements, and collaborate with QA teams to ensure all use cases are thoroughly tested.
  • Dashboard Development: Build and maintain interactive dashboards using advanced Tableau/Qlik/Power BI features, making complex data understandable and actionable for internal teams and clients.
  • Data Analysis & Validation: Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data across dashboards and reports.
  • Advanced Analytics: Conduct in-depth data analysis to uncover new metrics and insights, proposing metrics with potential for significant business impact.

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data visualization using Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
  • Experience creating business requirement documents and technical requirements.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, Apache Spark) and database management.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation skills to convey complex information clearly and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in data visualization and analytics.
  • 5+ years of working as a Business Analyst withing an agile development environment.
  • Agile Business Analyst (IIBA) certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Experience with SQL and database management systems is a plus.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
