Platinum Technologies currently has an opportunity for a seeking UI/UX Designer of varying levels of experience to support the development and integration of various intelligence capabilities into a test and subsequently operational environment. You will be a member of a project team responsible for designing and maintaining multiple DevOps pipelines integrating and deploying numerous components into the larger system infrastructure. Deployment will be across multiple networks into hybrid architectures consisting of both local and cloud infrastructures

This role is on-site in Herndon OR Chantilly, VA. Candidate must hold an active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI with polygraph.

What you get to do.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define user requirements and translate them into design specifications
  • Design and implement user interfaces for web applications, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that align with user needs and business goals
  • Work closely with developers to ensure the feasibility of designs and provide guidance during the implementation process
  • Maintain and refine design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency across products
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UI/UX design
  • Develop components & features per UI/UX designs as part of the developer's team


Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI clearance and be willing and able to pass a CI polygraph
  • Must be willing to work in the office 5 days a week in Herndon, VA
  • Bachelor's degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience may be substituted for a degree
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in UI/UX design and development
  • Proficient in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar
  • Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with and deep understanding of the following technologies:

  • Strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX design work and case studies
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment


Desired Skills:

  • Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices
  • Familiarity with design systems and component libraries
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication skills to articulate design concepts and decisions
  • Vue2/3, VUEX/Pinia, Vuetify, Cesium, Vis, Cypress
  • Some experience with web-sockets, data streaming, and other real-time data methods
  • Ability to write performant code as the amount of data being sent, processed, and received in the apps can be very large
  • Experience with splitting up Monolithic UI into separate/stand-alone applications
  • Experience with migrating from VUEX to Pinia (or something similar)
  • Experience with migrating from Vue2 to Vue3
