Position Summary

The Financial Analyst II role is a key regional support role and provides strategic support for multiple departments, including Operations, Clinical, Facilities, and the Executive Team. Through excellent financial acumen, partnership with leaders and teams, and strong interpersonal skills, this role is a key contributor to operational results.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Build models and perform ad-hoc financial analysis for divisional, regional and department teams.
  • Identify and lead the development of high impact value-add analysis on business drivers, trends, and risk/opportunities utilizing internal and external data.
  • Support divisional, regional. and community teams through projections and the annual budgeting cycle.
  • Drive analysis of distributions.
  • Drive ROI analysis process for capex proposals.
  • Suggest and implement cost reduction targets and track progress toward achieving goals.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial and operating reviews.
  • Support division and company-wide efforts in budgeting, projections, rate increases, labor analysis, and other ad-hoc projects.
  • Apply existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within the department.
  • Regular and reliable attendance required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge And Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required:

  • Strong understanding of financial statements, especially income statements.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle steps.
  • Interpersonal skills are crucial, as this position will be working extensively with other departmental staff.
  • Organizational skills are of high priority as well as the ability to manage large projects.
  • Able to use sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems based on a combination of precedent, example, and reasonableness.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or University with two to four years related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced skills in word processing and spreadsheet programs, i.e., Microsoft Word/Excel.
  • Experience in healthcare with a focus on multi-specialty service lines is preferred.
