Job Title: AWS Cloud Developer
Duration: 6-month contract
Location: Portland, OR (hybrid - remote optional)
Pay Range: $60.00 - $63.23 per hour

This role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying scalable applications using AWS services. It involves close collaboration with internal teams to deliver technology-driven solutions that address business needs. This is a hybrid position for local candidates or remote for those outside the area, with potential for contract extension.

Position Responsibilities

  • Design and develop highly available, fault-tolerant applications using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Cognito, and Kinesis
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and serverless architectures using AWS services
  • Optimize application performance, security, and cost-effectiveness leveraging AWS best practices
  • Monitor and troubleshoot application performance and security issues using AWS tools such as CloudWatch and X-Ray
  • Engage with business partners to understand requirements and design viable solutions
  • Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and product teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery
  • Participate in daily standups and weekly team meetings to report progress and address challenges

Position Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack development with expertise in AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Cognito, and DynamoDB
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python preferred, Java or Node.js) and one front-end language (React preferred, TypeScript)
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with cloud computing principles and microservices architecture
  • Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Must-Have Skills:
  1. AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Cognito, DynamoDB
  2. Backend programming language: Python (preferred), Java, or Node.js
  3. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Nice-to-Have Skills:
  1. Experience with AWS Bedrock, Kendra, or OpenSearch services
  2. Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
  3. Experience with data integration and ETL processes
