As the Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) System Integration Leader (SIL), you will be responsible for the overall technical execution of Avionics FLRAA projects, including Digital Backbone, Health Awareness System, and Common Services. You will directly lead a small team of the key engineering project and technical leaders on the FLRAA projects, and indirectly lead the much larger cross-functional engineering team assigned to the projects. You will be accountable for balancing technical scope, schedule, and budget to drive outcomes in line with customer and business expectations. You will collaborate closely with the executive program leader and other business functions to ensure overall program success.

Job Description

In your role, you will:
  • Provide direct engineering leadership to the FLRAA System Integration team, consisting of key engineering project and technical leaders on the FLRAA projects.
  • Be accountable for overall operational execution of the engineering scope to meet technical, schedule, and budget expectations.
  • Drive overall system integration and technical maturation. Establish effective rhythms to manage technical debt, risk & opportunity, and change.
  • Ensure rapid decision making to support program pace.
  • Coach implementation of FLIGHT DECK fundamentals - especially daily management, operating cadence, and problem solving - to achieve more consistent engineering performance and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a strong collaborative relationship with the customer (and the ultimate customer) to influence and drive key technical decisions on the program.
  • Collaborate closely with the executive Program Leader and other business functions, including Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, and Contracts.
  • Create a one team, collaborative culture across the FLRAA engineering team.
  • Maintain unwavering commitment to compliance, integrity, and inclusiveness. Establish a culture of compliance.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronic, software engineering or computer science from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience.
  • Domain expertise in design, integration, and qualification/certification of avionics systems.
  • Experience leading successful execution of large, complex product development programs.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
