Job Description
Does working hands-on with new-build, tracked military vehicle production programs where you engage to support problem documentation, investigation, resolution and communications sound interesting?
The BAE Systems site in Elgin, Oklahoma is seeking a Quality Engineering Tech II in support of Combat Mission Systems operations on 1st Shift. In this role as a Quality Engineering Tech, you will develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems in a LEAN production vehicle manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring requirements are met throughout multiple processes, but primarily supporting 1st Shift M109A7 (Self Propelled Howitzer) Assembly, Garage, Paint and Final.
In this position you will interact with various Production oriented working teams (Floor Support, Manufacturing Operators, Engineering, Operations, Program Management, among others) to ensure that processes are in place to prevent defects from occurring. In cases where defects do occur you will engage to research, document, contain and help to resolve the problem through various methods available to you while ensuring effective communication of needs and status across counterpart support teams.
A component of this role will involve support to production inspection and product audit activity with necessary documentation, reporting and resolution.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $61830 - $105120
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically requires an Associates degree in an Engineering or other technical discipline with at least 4 years of related experience, or the overall equivalent.
- A well prepared candidate will be mechanically oriented with experience interpreting drawings, standards and specifications as well as procedures and work instruction documentation.
- Requires working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control fundamentals.
- Strong background in problem solving techniques and analysis.
- Proficiency in standard and industry related software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively package details and data collected from Production and its associated data sets and communicate through verbal and electronic means to broader working teams in support of defining approved courses of action.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Quality certifications.
- Experience working in a production program in support of government contracts, preferably DoD.
- Formal training in root cause analysis.
- Experience engaging with a union workforce.
- Visual and tactile inspection experience.
