This position can be done remotely or from our Westchester office. Site visits are required to southern NY, northern NJ and Long Island area.

30% travel required

SENIOR BUILDING SYSTEMS ENGINEERING (BSE) DESIGNER MECHANICAL

The individual in this role works with design engineers to plan, design, and oversee the installation of building systems on a variety of project types. As a member of the BSE team, you have developed a deep expertise in an engineering specialty and have experience in design coordination as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The Senior BSE works independently on moderately to highly complex projects.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • You earned an AS Degree, but a bachelor degree is preferred
  • You have 6-8 years of engineering experience
  • An ability to perform moderately difficult technical computations and consolidate acquired data
  • Specific knowledge of structural, HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical design software
  • An ability to comprehend and carry out oral or written instructions
  • An understanding of construction plans/specifications and their application to public works projects is a major plus

CORE DUTIES

  • Set up Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP projects based on existing project template
  • Oversee and perform CAD and Revit drafting
  • Develop mechanical construction models in AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP
  • Ensure model meets expectations stated in the project standards
  • Design drawings based on written and verbal descriptions from design engineers
  • Prepare plan sections, detail drawings
  • Perform file management functions such as posting models, downloading model updates, managing links, and historic versioning
  • Attend coordination meetings, communicate with other trades, and create reports as required
  • Assist in clash detection of coordination models
  • Create detailed field installation drawings and fabrication drawings.
  • Provide technical support for existing projects and field service
  • Coordinate and prepare record as-built models and drawings

The rate for this position generally ranges between $xx- xx annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law.
