Mission Command Engineer

Location: Orlando, FL (PEO STRI)

Security Clearance: TS-SCI (Required)

Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in mission command systems, or 5 years of other relevant experience

Work Schedule: Hybrid, In office 2 days a week


Job Summary:

PEO STRI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mission Command Engineer to support its mission of delivering cutting-edge simulation and training solutions for the Army. The ideal candidate will have a background in Battle Command Common Services (BCCS) and Mission Command Information Systems, with a deep understanding of mission command operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert engineering support for Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) and Battle Command Common Services (BCCS) architecture.
  • Lead the design, development, integration, and sustainment of mission command systems and solutions.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to assess system requirements and develop tailored solutions to meet operational needs.
  • Develop technical documentation and support system architecture design.
  • Perform troubleshooting, testing, and configuration management for mission command systems.
  • Interface with project managers, military units, and other technical personnel to deliver mission-oriented outcomes.
  • Ensure systems meet stringent security standards and function within the constraints of classified environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in mission command systems, or 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Mission Command Expertise: Proven experience with Battle Command Common Services (BCCS) and Mission Command Information Systems.
  • Security Clearance: Active TS-SCI clearance (mandatory).
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of software/hardware systems related to mission command and their lifecycle support requirements.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, particularly in high-stress, mission-critical environments.
  • Ability to work in a classified environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and interacting with military personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degrees in engineering, information technology, or related fields.
  • Experience with Army or DoD systems and protocols.
  • Familiarity with software development, systems integration, and cyber security measures within mission command systems.
