We are seeking a talented Application Support Analyst (L2/L3) with expertise in SQL and a deep understanding of financial services trading. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, reliability, and efficient operation of our trading applications and platforms. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to managing and resolving issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first and second-level technical support for trading applications, ensuring prompt response and resolution of issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Monitor system performance and health, performing proactive maintenance and identifying potential areas of improvement.
  • Collaborate with development teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex technical issues, including SQL database performance tuning and optimization.
  • AWS or other cloud experience.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation related to application support processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including traders, operations teams, and IT infrastructure, to ensure seamless integration and operation of trading systems.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide support during off-hours and weekends as required.
  • Contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing system functionality, scalability, and performance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in application support / production support within the financial services industry, with a focus on trading platforms and systems.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL querying, database management, and performance tuning.
  • AWS or other cloud experience.
  • Windows, Unix, Linux.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, trading workflows, and instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc.).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and data analysis is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
