The Opportunity:

As the Technical Product Lead, you will be accountable for the cobas eplex System, taking technical end-to-end ownership and ensuring performance and quality through established KPIs. Responsibilities include defining product specifications and leading the cross-functional System Product Team Meeting (PTM) while reporting to the PCQT. The position involves defining and tracking yearly cross-functional Product Care objectives, ensuring alignment with relevant functions and stakeholders. The individual will drive cross-functional collaboration among Production, R&D, GCS, CIR, Engineering, QA, Regulatory Affairs, and Business Area functions. Additionally, the role includes leading cross-functional PCQT and Operations projects, providing technical oversight in collaboration with the project lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defines and tracks yearly cross-functional Product Care objectives, ensuring alignment with relevant functions and stakeholders.

    Drives collaboration among Production, R&D, GCS, CIR, Engineering, QA, Regulatory Affairs, and Business Area functions.
  • Leads cross-functional PCQT and Operations projects, providing technical oversight in collaboration with project leads.
  • Manages project activities including planning, monitoring, reporting, and alignment with involved functions.
  • Conducts holistic root cause analysis for quality and performance issues while supporting budget planning and reconciliation.
  • Serves as the central point of contact for lifecycle management activities and ensures continuous Product Risk Management updates.
  • Drives product performance and quality, leads the Product Quality Committee (PQC), and represents the product in audits, while supporting continuous improvement of the Roche customer experience.


Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline or applicable work experience
  • 5 years of progressive work experience in an appropriate scientific discipline, including demonstrated leadership as applied to the management of complex technical projects
  • 5 years experience in project management


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters is preferred
  • Ten or more (10+) years of experience in product care, production, development and/or related projects
  • Proven record of cross functional project leadership and excellent root cause analysis skills
  • Agile / Scrum Master / PMP certification
  • Good understanding of the GenMark production process and the ePlex Assays
  • Team-oriented personality with very good networked thinking and excellent collaboration skills
  • Independent working style as well as very good communication and presentation skills
  • High assertiveness, flexible, resilient and open personality
  • Candidate with existing Roche and/or GenMark network preferred

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Carlsbad, CA is $127,100 - $23,000 . Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
