We are seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer in our North Region (New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine) to lead transportation project designs, mentor early career professionals, and help grow our transportation practice. You will be a part of a dynamic team shaping New England roads, highways, and trails. Fuss & O Neill specializes in multimodal design, and we are designing innovative transportation solutions throughout New England that create equitable access and that help the environment in the face of a changing climate.

This position may report to any of Fuss & O'Neill's North Region offices, but your location is up to you! Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Transportation Engineer, you will lead complex highway, roadway, and multimodal design, including preparation of conceptual design studies, as well as preliminary and final design construction documents. You will supervise project staff, supporting their professional growth and providing technical mentorship. You will work directly with clients, building and maintaining relationships that help bring about transformative projects.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor s degree in civil engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years of relevant working experience in highway engineering and roadway design
  • Professional Engineering licensure in NH, ME, or VT or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Experience with CAD software - MicroStation/Connect, InRoads/OpenRoads preferred; AutoCAD, Civil3D, and GIS a plus
  • DOT experience required VTrans, NHDOT, and/or MaineDOT preferred (project design requirements and plan preparation guidelines)
  • Experience preparing proposals and project budgets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
