We are looking for an experienced DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in managing and optimizing DB2 databases, ensuring the security, performance, and availability of critical data systems. What You'll Do:

  • Administer and maintain DB2 database environments, including installation, configuration, and applying patches.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Implement robust security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and auditing protocols.
  • Plan and forecast database capacity to meet evolving business and operational needs.
  • Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies to maintain data integrity and availability.
  • Work closely with development teams to optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and other database elements to enhance performance.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending improvements where applicable.
  • Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines for future reference.

What You Bring:

  • Active Secret Clearance (required due to contract).
  • Bachelors degree (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • At least 7 years of experience in database administration, specifically with DB2 in enterprise settings.
  • Strong proficiency with DB2 utilities such as Load, Check, Copy, Recover, and others.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, supporting geographically dispersed teams.
  • IBM Certified Database Administrator (desired, but not required).

Location:

  • Must reside near Annapolis Junction, MD, and be available for on-site work as needed.
