Job Summary:

HBK Engineering is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to support our expanding land development portfolio. This role involves working on diverse projects, including electric vehicle charging stations, commercial and utility-scale solar projects, battery energy storage sites, and utility-related civil site work.

Salary:

  • 5-7 years of experience: $85,000-$95,000

  • 8-10 years of experience: $95,000-$110,000

  • 10+ years of experience: $100,000-$120,000

  • Relevant experience may lead to higher compensation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead detailed design work for land development projects, including site grading and stormwater facility design.

  • Independently review calculations and drawings prepared by others.

  • Ensure project completion on time and within budget.

  • Coordinate design activities to meet specifications, codes, and client requirements.

  • Assist in preparing proposals, contracts, and cost estimates.

  • Coordinate design efforts with sub-consultants and clients.

  • Prepare clear, concise technical reports and studies.

  • Travel as needed.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in construction work package designs, scheduling, and construction services.

  • Client liaison experience in a support or lead engineering role.

  • Proficiency in reviewing design drawings.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • 7+ years of design experience in land development, specifically underground design work and outdoor utility placement from point A to point B.

  • Utility experience, particularly in electric vehicle charging or renewable energy.

  • Experience in construction and surveying.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

  • Professional Engineering License in PA, IL, IA with the ability to obtain reciprocity in other states.
