Summary:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Automation Equipment Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of automation equipment within our manufacturing facility. This role focuses heavily on overseeing, maintaining, and optimizing automated systems, as well as providing leadership and technical support to the team. The Automation Equipment Supervisor is responsible for upholding safety standards, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Equipment Oversight: Monitor and supervise the operation of automation equipment to maintain consistent production levels, reduce downtime, and ensure product quality
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Implement and manage automation equipment, maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to prevent and address equipment malfunctions promptly
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance, support, and training to team members, ensuring they operate automation equipment safely and effectively
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards to maintain a safe work environment

Requirements

Experience & Education

  • 5 years manufacturing-setting experience, preferably consumer packaged goods
  • 3 years of automation experience or relevant background
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in automation, engineering, or a related field is a plus
  • Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of automation equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards related to automation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:

  • Ability to recognize and clearly report informationat multiple layers of the organization
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and electrical schematics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with and guide others
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming concepts, computer network technology, HMI, Servo & Frequency Drives, Control Net, Device Net, and Ethernet
  • Ability to be self-motivated and motivate others to persist in times of challenge or uncertainty
  • Working knowledge of industrial power and electrical system infrastructure
  • Skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • High self-motivated and ability to perform with minimum supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and oral and written communication skills
  • Must be punctual, organized, motivated and detail oriented

Office Hours/Location:

  • This position is based in Sebastopol, CA. This is an onsite role; expected onsite days are Monday through Friday, with occasional work on Saturdays

Compensation range is $33.85 - $44.42 per hour.
