The Electrical Designer / EIT reports to the Senior Electrical Engineer and is responsible for assisting project engineers in developing electrical solutions for design projects while participating as an integral member of the project team.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and coordinate with project team members.
  • Assist lead project engineer with assessing and designing lighting, power, data and low voltage system requirements and providing layouts.
  • Assist lead project engineer with compiling system specifications, details, and schedules.
  • Visit jobsites to survey and gather required information to complete drawings.
  • Perform various management duties as they apply to electrical portions of project.
  • Inform lead project engineer of potential issues.
  • Assist lead project engineer with completing addendum drawings.
  • Assist lead project engineer with completing revision drawings and punch lists.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • EIT or unlicensed designer, with 3+ years of experience, preferred.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license, preferred.
  • Experience with Revit MEP and AutoCAD, required.
  • Knowledge of Building and Electrical Codes and Standards, preferred.
  • Familiarity with BIM360, Bluebeam, and MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), preferred.

  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to meet deadlines and schedules.
  • Strong working knowledge of computers and software as they pertain to AutoCAD and Revit/BIM.

Physical Demands:

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
