As a Food Product Development Scientist, you will collaborate within a cross functional team comprised of business, technical, regulatory, and marketing partners to identify growth opportunities and build winning solutions for our guests. You will manage the experimentation and implementation of new ideas generated from broader innovation initiatives. In partnership with a cross-functional team, you will lead projects that involve testing products or solutions to enable new products or business opportunities. You will also support broader projects that involve various forms of guest research and experimentation. In your role, you will leverage collective expertise in product development, regulatory, packaging and store operations to recommend, design and test product solutions to solve identified guest needs.

As a Food & Beverage Sr. Scientist, you will need to:
- Understand your business's strategic initiatives and proactively work to implement supporting technical solutions
- Turn business strategies into strong program direction for our vendor partners
- Partner with Insights Teams to understand guest needs and turn concepts into product ideas that meet those requirements
- Leverage understanding of product/process/packaging interactions in conjunction with supply chain requirements to ensure robust product design that delivers consistent product performance
- Leverage understanding of general manufacturing to develop innovative products that can be scaled
- Be a technical leader between C&L, FSQR, and other cross-functional partners
- Be able to influence CFT and demonstrate leadership when needed
About you:
- Four year or advanced degree in Food Science or directly related field
- 8-10 years of relevant experience
- Strong product development and formulation including cost drivers, ingredient interactions, and technical feasibility
- Ability to translate bench top formulations to scalable products
- Knowledge of consumer focused research and design
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills
- Demonstrated business understanding and acumen
- Strong influencing and strategic skills
- Ability to successfully work in a team environment
- Willing to travel up to 30% time
