Located in Tallahassee, Florida, the Florida Association of Court Clerks & Comptrollers is a statewide, non-profit member association. The association is comprised of the Florida Clerks of the Circuit Court and Comptrollers. FACC Services Group, LLC, dba CiviTek Solutions was established in 1991 to provide financial and technical services for the Clerks of Circuit Court and Comptrollers of the State of Florida. CiviTek is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Florida Association of Court Clerks, Inc. (FCCC)

A Brief Overview

To provide effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of all FCCC/Civitek systems hardware, software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational policies. Responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems. Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department.

Salary: $65,000-70,000 annual, No relocation or sponsorship available

What you will do

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the FCCC host computer systems by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair. Ensures that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained. Applies revisions to host system firmware and software. Works with vendors to assist support activities.
  • Develops new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability. Trains technical staff in how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis. Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources.
  • Apply system level Firmware upgrades as required. Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Manage installation and/or upgrades of systems management/monitoring/administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary. Manage daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs. Manage daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
  • Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions. Address security concerns according to the FCCC/Civitek security policy guidelines. Research, suggest, and implement system changes, including, operating system updates, firmware upgrades, security, networking etc. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
  • Engineering of SA-related solutions for various projects and operational needs. Disaster response and continuity planning and testing for each of the FCCC/Civitek functional areas. Develop and maintain operational, configuration, or other documentation/procedures. Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Interpret and/or discuss information with others in a courteous and professional manner. Communication may involve terminology or concepts not familiar to many people; provide advice and recommend actions involving technology issues. Respond promptly when returning telephone calls and replying to written correspondence.
  • Provide high quality customer service to all internal and external customers. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and regulations and instructions. Responsibilities require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science or Information Systems or a related field. Required and
  • Microsoft/Linux/Unix Certifications Required
  • 3 years of related experience or 5 years of previous related experience. Required and
  • Knowledge of Windows/Linux/Unix operating systems. Required
  • UNIX/Linux and Microsoft System Administration.
  • Understanding of virtualization concepts, tools, configuration and clustering.
  • Knowledge of Zimbra or Microsoft Exchange preferred.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies such as Azure and Office 365.
  • Understanding of Computer Security.
  • Understanding networking concepts.
  • Ability to be detail oriented, research ideas, develop a plan and see it through to completion.
  • Ability to troubleshoot various aspects of computer hardware, software, networking/connectivity, etc.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate issues in both written and verbal format to peers and escalation points.
  • The position requires the ability to work with computing systems, software and peripheral equipment in a Virtualized, Microsoft and UNIX/Linux operating environment.
  • Must be PCI compliant
