SECTION I GENERAL SKILL/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

1. Demonstrated experience conducting quantitative, statistical, and qualitative analyses in the transportation sector.

2. Familiarity with key areas such as transportation activity analysis, benefit-cost analysis, economic impact analysis, and econometric forecasting.

3. Proven ability to work on multiple projects efficiently and independently.

4. Strong communication and collaboration skills, effective in both individual and team settings, especially in a hybrid work environment.

5. Capacity to adapt and perform a wide range of tasks as needed.

SECTION II GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1. 3 years of work experience in the transportation, statistical, or economics space.

2. Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, Word, Power Point, and Access.

3. Experience with analytical packages (R, Python, EViews, Stata, etc.).

4. Demonstrated knowledge in statistics or econometrics.

5. Ability to work at the office three days a week

6. Bachelor s degree in economics, finance, statistics or a related field. Master s degree strongly preferred.

SECTION III SPECIFIC TASK ASSIGNMENT

TASK A DATA COLLECTION & QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS

1. Familiarity with publicly available data sources that provide economic, demographic, and transportation data, such as Census, USDOT, BLS, and FRED.

2. Proficiency in organizing data with best practices and presenting it clearly in Excel for knowledge transfer

3. Ability to identify relevant trends in economic, demographic, and transportation data to inform analyses such as an inflation analysis of the agency s capital plan, remote work trends etc.

4. Ability to contextualize results based on comparable analyses or data sources

5. Ability to determine appropriate metrics to convey trends related to current and emerging transportation and economic issues relevant to the agency.

6. Exposure to automating data extraction using programming languages such as R, Python, etc.

TASK B RESEARCH & REPORTING

1. Ability to examine market and industry behavior through targeted qualitative and quantitative research.

2. Ability to perform literature reviews and communicate results clearly.

3. Ability to monitor and present commentary on economic releases.

4. Ability to review and summarize reports to inform project decisions and outcomes.

5. Strong writing skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate ideas in written reports, presentations, and correspondence.

Anticipated Assignment Duration: One year

Reporting Location: 4WTC, NYC (Hybrid); however, services are anticipated to be at various Port Authority facilities and are subject to change as required by the Authority.
