RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Server Engineer in Naperville, IL.
Essential Functions:
* Lead in the design, acquisition, implementation, and support of cloud and on-premise compute and storage infrastructure
* Analyze infrastructure to determine and resolve inefficiencies
* Manage infrastructure projects and make recommendations on solutions
* Stay up to date with the latest advancements in infrastructure technology and best practices
* Collaborate with network engineers, security engineers and other IT professionals
Technical Leadership and Project Management:
* Provide technical leadership and overall project management of various essential and high visibility projects
* Technical lead for design and administration decisions related to Infrastructure
* Training/Mentoring: Promote the professional growth of the team
Support and Operations:
* Performance and capacity planning: monitor, reconfigure and tune hardware and software for performance improvements and future scalability
* Provide Tier III support for essential infrastructure as needed. Investigate and troubleshoot issues
* Ensure that systems are running at optimal performance and best practice
REQUIREMENTS:
* 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead position in a 24/7 enterprise environment
* Proven track record of managing and delivering IT infrastructure projects
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make decisions based on data
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
* Deep technical knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory (both on-prem and Azure)
* Proficient in virtualization technologies, particularly VMware; experience with Hyper-V is a plus
* Proficient in scripting languages (PowerShell preferred)
* Ability to learn and adapt new technologies
* Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, AWS) are highly desirable

* Intune
* SCOM
* SRDF Replication
* Linux
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
