King and Sykes have been engaged to assist our O&G client in recruiting an ESG Strategy & Analytics Lead for their Houston, TX office. This role will spearhead the development and execution of corporate strategies on environmental and regulatory matters.

In this position, the ESG Strategy & Analytics Lead will oversee evaluations of emerging technologies and processes, optimize data collection and analytics, and establish a proactive environmental strategy for the company.

General Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the executive team to formulate an emissions strategy involving multiple disciplines across the organization, including corporate officers, operations, finance, investor relations, and legal.
  • Assess new technologies and processes to enhance emissions tracking and reduction, potentially through pilot projects, industry partnerships, or collaboration with technology and environmental partners.
  • Optimize data collection, analysis, and processes to create a live dashboard for organizational use, enabling a better understanding and reduction of the emissions footprint.
  • Work closely with the operations team to implement technology, assets, and data analytics solutions.
  • Partner with finance, legal, and investor relations to understand and communicate new regulations, develop investor communications, and lead the preparation of the Corporate Sustainability Report.
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory authorities, peer companies, and governmental agencies to stay informed on environmental issues, technologies, regulations, and environmental safety and health practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field. Degrees in other fields may be considered with relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in E&P Engineering, Operations, Environmental Regulations, or a related field. Candidates with Planning or Finance backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations, and familiarity with federal and state agency reporting processes and procedures is preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex environmental and regulatory issues and devise practical solutions.
