Job Description:
CMDB/Asset Management Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced ServiceNow CMDB and Asset Management Specialist to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Asset Management modules, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure and services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. CMDB Management:
- Maintain and update the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Identify and resolve CMDB issues, discrepancies, and inconsistencies
- Develop and implement processes for CMDB data governance and quality assurance
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure CMDB data aligns with business requirements
- Integrate third party tools with ServiceNow using API or service Graph connectors.
- Manage Vulnerability threats across a distributed, hybrid network. sending automated alerts to IT teams for remediation.

2. Asset Management:
- Oversee the ServiceNow Asset Management, including asset lifecycle management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset records, including hardware and software assets
- Perform regular asset audits and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy
- Develop and generate asset reports for management and compliance purposes
- Develop Application Service Mapping

3. ServiceNow Administration:
- Perform minor coding and configuration tasks within ServiceNow to support CMDB and Asset Management functions
- Customize and maintain ServiceNow forms, fields, and workflows related to CMDB and Asset Management
- Provide user support and training on ServiceNow CMDB and Asset Management modules
- Monitor and optimize ServiceNow performance related to CMDB and Asset Management

4. Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate regular dashboard reports on CMDB health, asset utilization, and related metrics
- Analyze CMDB and Asset Management data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost optimization
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support business decisions

5. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with IT teams, including Infrastructure, Operations, change management and Service Desk, to ensure seamless integration of CMDB and Asset Management processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Finance and Procurement, to align asset management practices
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing updates, insights, and recommendations

Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience working with ServiceNow, with expertise in CMDB and Asset Management modules
- ServiceNow System Administrator certification or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of ITIL and IT service management principles
- Experience with ServiceNow scripting and coding (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
- Knowledge of database management and data modeling concepts
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills and Experience:
- ServiceNow CMDB and/or Asset Management certifications
- Experience with IT asset discovery and inventory tools
- Knowledge of IT financial management and software asset management practices
- Familiarity with ITSM frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, or ISO 20000
