Job Description

The Program Manager/Senior Program Manager, CMC Portfolio Management will provide end-to-end strategic portfolio leadership with a focus on proactive identification of acceleration opportunities and/or roadblocks to enable cross-functional teams to achieve key asset milestones. The Program Manager/Sr. Program Manager will provide timeline/scenario planning and program management support to Product, Presentation, Device Strategy (PPDS) teams for Pre-clinical and early/mid-stage development programs across multiple modalities (small molecule, biologics, ADCs, cell/gene therapy). Excellent program management/communication skills and strong expertise of PM tools (MS Project, Timeline Pro, etc.) are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Program Management (PM) support for one or more Product Presentation and Device Strategy Teams (PPDSTs).
    • Serve as a key business partner in developing core strategies and delivering goals of asset teams
    • Coordinate PPDST/CMC activities and deliverables and supports the PPDST leader(s) in driving cross-functional alignment good decision-making practices
    • Proactively identify challenges or potential issues for execution, both within PPDST and partnering with asset PM cross-functionally, managing or escalating as appropriate
    • Partner with project planners to ensure appropriate and accurate tracking and reporting of team deliverable timelines. Maintain operational awareness of the PPDST deliverables and upcoming needs.
    • Partner with PPDST core members and strategic partners to proactively identify, communicate and manage team risks, including escalation as appropriate for asset level risks
    • Operates with a strategic, cross-functional mindset.
    • Proactively seek learnings from other teams and share best practices
  • May provide supervisory management of CMC Portfolio Management junior staff

Qualifications

  • Program Manager
    • Bachelor s degree required in a technical or scientific related discipline and 6+ years professional work experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry in at least one role/functional area associated with drug development (research and development, commercial, project management, operations); or Master s degree with 4+ years of work experience; or Doctorate degree with 2+ years of work experience in same disciplines.
  • Senior Program Manager
    • Bachelor s degree required in a technical or scientific related discipline and 8+ years professional work experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry in at least one role/functional area associated with drug development (research and development, commercial, project management, operations); or Master s degree with 6+ years of work experience; or Doctorate degree with 4+ years of work experience in same disciplines.
    • 1+ years Program Management experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience within the Small Molecule Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control (CMC) drug development space is strongly preferred.
  • Strong program management skills and knowledge of program management practices and common tools used in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and leadership skills.
  • Accreditation in a project management or process improvement discipline preferred (e.g. Project Management Professional, LEAN Six Sigma, etc.).
