Purpose of position:
Assist the Purchasing Department with the day-to-day tasks with an emphasis on coordinating status of all Merritt purchases with our vendors and communicate any issues to the stakeholders. Review/track purchase orders through the purchasing process to production/delivery/installation, ensure purchase order accuracy and eliminate surprises. Candidate will work closely with Production and Project teams.

Assist the Purchasing Department with the day-to-day tasks with an emphasis on coordinating status of all Merritt purchases with our vendors and communicate any issues to the stakeholders. Review/track purchase orders through the purchasing process to production/delivery/installation, ensure purchase order accuracy and eliminate surprises. Candidate will work closely with Production and Project teams.
Role And Responsibilities
- Assist in expediting incoming materials for an as needed basis
- Verify all incoming receipts in Visual (stock/consumables) with purchase orders and expedite any shortages
- Review open purchase order report on a scheduled basis and communicate planned delivery date delinquencies to the stakeholders with updates in Visual
- Follow-up with vendors on purchases to ensure timely delivery, obtain tracking, etc.
- Request and coordinate needed returns with vendors to minimize cost and impact to Merritt
- Reconcile invoices with vendors and our A/P department as needed
- Maintain positive relationships with all vendors
- Support new vendor set-up and documentation to ensure requirements are met
- Answer and respond to all incoming calls/emails in a timely manner
- Willing to perform other tasks as assigned
- Associate's degree from an Accredited College OR 2+ years of direct position-specific experience, preferably in Construction
- Knowledge of millwork/construction terminology is a plus
- Experience with MRP Software is desirable
- Ability to multi-task, attention to detail and be well organized
- Exceptional time management and follow-up skills
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and schedule
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
