Job Description
The Survey Project Manager is responsible and accountable for the overall success of the assigned surveying projects. This includes the financial performance of the project budget, project scheduling and meeting deadlines, managing client needs and expectations, coordination with field crews and CAD Techs, research, and processing of all elements of the survey and project deliverables, the overall QA/QC process of the surveys, and supporting documentation for the survey and responsible for compiling and managing the appropriate resources to deliver the survey to the Client. The Survey Project Manager will be expected to foster the mentorship of Field Crews and CAD Techs particularly as related to project management. They will demonstrate a strong sense of management skills amongst peers both internally to SW+ and externally to the public. This position will continue to seek mentorship from Survey Team Leaders to strengthen project, employee, and client management skill sets.

Requirements:
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in science or math from an accredited college/university required
Experience: 5 - 10 years' experience with a surveying firm; 3 years in a management position
Essential Job Functions
Perform all skills of a Survey Crew Chief and Cad Tech
Assist in the collection of field data as necessary
Coordinate directly with Clients, Contractors, and government agencies to provide exceptional surveys
Evaluate and provide suggested solutions to problem solving and troubleshooting issues arising in the field
Preparation of project schedules
Full responsibility and engagement in the managing of client's expectations on project requirements, deliverables, agency regulations, scheduling, and project deadlines
Prepare project tracking worksheets and monitor current workloads and performance status of all assigned projects across the survey team
Ability to manage all aspects (Clients, Employees, and resources multiple assigned projects)
Prepare and review invoices for client billing
Ability to mentor fellow survey department employees
Prepare ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
Engage frequently in business development opportunities to enhance SW+'s presence in the community and amongst potential Clients
Developmental time management and organization skills
Demonstrate ability and proficiency in the project management of multiple types of surveys (Tree & Topographical Surveys, ALTS/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Plats, etc.)
Ability to effectively present surveys to engineers
Full responsibility, accountability, and engagement in the QA/QC reviews on all assigned surveys prior to submittals to clients and agencies
Manage the assignment of project task appropriately and provide clear direction to the survey team
Provide sound and experienced judgement on survey decisions and solutions
Desired Skills
Taken Fundamentals of Surveying Exam (FS)
Working toward Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) certification
Basic knowledge and understanding of project proposals (scope of work process, project budget, and project schedule)
Ability to coordinate with outside consultants involved in the project Civil Engineers, Traffic Consultants, Architects, Wetland Consultants, Arborist, etc.)
Developmental time management and organization skills
Ability to mentor fellow Survey Team Members
Demonstrate proficiency in client contact skills and effective business development
Ability to perform QA/QC reviews on surveys
Ability to manage and assign tasks to CAD Technicians and Field Crews
Ability to prepare a complete survey for multiple project types in various jurisdictions with assistance from civil engineering staff
Ability to review and comment on surveys, final plats, roadway and drainage as-builts, water and sewer as-builts
Involvement in companywide strategic initiatives and committees
